The Premiere

In our premiere camp we had writers from Sweden, Norway, Denmark, UK, America, Tokyo, France, Germany and Netherlands. We had a 60 / 40 split of gender and aim to maintain this as a maximum split either way. The camp does not claim any ownership of the creation rights and we are a neutral platform with no external influence from any label or publishing house – this is what makes us different. We work for the writers and their creativity alone. And we believe that Sweden is a key place for this with both its rich heritage and current importance in the musical scape.

The opening

2015’s opening evening held at the Swedish Music Hall of Fame was lucky enough to have Björn Ulvaeus (one of our active supporters) and Benny Andersson welcome the writers. We also invited several of the countries prominent A&R representatives and our donors and sponsors (which included Stockholm Business Region, ABBA the Museum, STIM, Skap, Auddly, Yamaha, Fender, 4sound and Avid) – most of which will be our sponsors and partners for 2016 again.

The Team

The team behind Stockholm Songwriting Camp is Niclas Molinder, Laura Tomlinson and Lotta Molinder.

niclas

Niclas is an entrepreneur (co-founder of auddly), music producer and songwriter. Working with artists such as Ashley Tisdale, Lady Gaga, associations such as Disney and with his new company auddly (an online programme that allows writers to control all aspects of their creations) he has a firm understanding and love of this side of the industry. He wanted to create a camp that would allow for writers to come together to share, discover and create in an environment that embraced this. The idea for the camp was borne from this desire.

Laura has worked for the past 11 years in the industry in production and coordination, helping to bring events to life around the world. Working with productions and artist such as MTV EMAs, Way Out West Festival, Stockholm Jazz Festival, Lykke Li and First Aid Kit, to name a few, she has dedicated herself to being an instigator and enabler for bringing artistry and inspiration to the forefront, strongly believing in the power of creativity.

Lotta has worked with special needs, administration and recruitment in the municipality of Örebro for years as well as being involved and directing her passion towards events taking place in her home town. Stepping into the periphery of the music world 12 years ago she has been involved with various business ventures in and around the songwriting world ever since and brings this  overview and understanding with her to the camp organisation.
